802.11 Wireless Attacks & Detection/Defense

Abstract

Number of penetration incidents in wireless networks in the world grows exponentially. A lot of 802.11 vendors still sell wireless products without reasonable security features (WPA, EAP, ..) A lot of service providers (Wifi VOIP phones) still provide no encryption capability for their wireless devices. The basic 802.11 protocol does not provide a reliable way of authentication and encryption on the link layer.
